Ezekiel’s prophesy timeline

Daniel’s prophesy timeline – see Appendix

Countdown to a Kingdom; The timeline presented here is based primarily on the book of Ezekiel, which is a run through of the Judgment to come [chapters 1-39], leading to the future kingdom of God [chapters 36-48]. You are unlikely to hear this doctrine from a church pulpit – at least, I never did. If you can’t see it’s relevance at first glance, don’t give up. Keep looking through the book until you can. Constructing this timeline has been a blessing, giving me a better understanding of how awesome God is, and I hope you will find it so too. Of more importance than pinning down times and events, is to listen and hear the message of Ezekiel. It is a message of great hope, and of great rebuke.

The Judgment to come is itself a great rebuke – one that we will not escape unless we listen to the prophets and act now to correct our misdeeds. Christians have an unfortunate tendency to reject prophetic rebuke as being irrelevant to themselves – I know this because I am one – but this is a fatal mistake. We only deceive ourselves when we do this. Ezekiel’s message is one we all need to hear if we are to break off the shackles of deception and get a new heart, as God has instructed us to do;

 Repent! Turn away from all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!    Ezekiel 18:31

King of the Universe, Mount Zion, Jerusalem, Planet Earth.

This is the future address of Almighty God. God’s kingdom is near, and I have searched to find what God now requires of us. The answer is, we must turn our hearts toward Israel – the promised land, Jerusalem [Zion] - God’s habitation on earth, and the temple – God’s eternal throne among men. Don’t be fooled by the fact that John didn’t see a temple in the city. [Revelation 21:22] That is a stumbling block against us receiving the truth. The physical temple will be on the holy mountain, about 2 ½ kilometers north of Jerusalem [Ezekiel 48:9-22] Here are some scriptures that may indicate the importance of Jerusalem and the temple to God and to us.;

 In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it… The Law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.     Isaiah 2:2,3 and Micah 4:1

I heard someone speaking to me from inside the temple. He said; Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet. This is where I will live among the Israelites forever.     Ezekiel 43:7

…out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!”    Revelation 15:17

 You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.     Isaiah 62:6,7

For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling: “This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned…     Psalm 132:13

I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.    Zechariah 8:3

The moon will be abashed, the sun ashamed, for the LORD will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders, gloriously.     Isaiah 24:23

Say to the Daughter of Zion, See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD; and you will be called Sought After, the City No Longer Deserted.    Isaiah 62:11,12

The sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.    Isaiah 60:14

…gifts will be brought to Mount Zion, the place of the name of the LORD Almighty.    Isaiah 18:7

Afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City.     Isaiah 1:26

And the name of the city from that time on will be: THE LORD IS THERE.    Ezekiel 48:35

Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain. It is beautiful in it’s loftiness, the joy of the whole earth. Like the utmost heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.     Psalm 48:1,2

The LORD dwells in Zion!!!    Joel 3:21

But first, God has promised a Day of Judgment for all mankind;

The great day of the LORD is near and coming quickly….I will bring distress on the people and they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD…. In the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth.     Zephaniah 1:14-18

The earth is defiled by it’s people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse consumes the earth; it’s people must bear their guilt. Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up, and very few are left.    Isaiah 24:5,6

The LORD will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against his land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on the earth. The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for the LORD will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword.     Jeremiah 25:30,31

But the end of this life is only the beginning;

But the day of doom shall be the end of this time, and the beginning of the immortality to come, wherein corruption is past….righteousness is grown, and truth is sprung up.    2 Esdras 7:43,44

We do not know exactly when this will occur, but were instructed to keep watch;

[Jesus] said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”     Acts 1:7

…when you see all these things, you know that [the end / the promised kingdom] is near… Matt 24:33 Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?     Luke 12:56

Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.    Matthew 24:45 [also see Luke 12:35-48]

The premise of this prophesy doctrine;

All the Law and Prophets remain God’s word for us today – none of it made redundant by Jesus life, death, and resurrection, or by previous fulfillment of prophesy. Jesus said that the Law and Prophets remain current, and that it is the gospel of eternal life;

Do not think I have come to abolish the Law and the Prophets.     [Jesus] Matthew 5:17

Let him warn them, so that they will not come to this place of torment.” Abraham replied, “They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.”    [Jesus] Luke 16:29

Recurring prophecy;

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again…    Ecclesiastes 1:9, 3:15

…. [the prophets] were not serving themselves but you….    1 Peter 1:12

[Now] the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as announced to his prophets.    Revelation 10:7

 The word God gave Moses and the prophets is the standard for truth, [Isaiah 8:20] but hasn’t always been transcribed faithfully. God has said; How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually, the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? [Jeremiah 8:8] In practical terms, this means not basing or rejecting a doctrine on any one prophesy or scripture, but viewing them collectively, to reveal God’s plan for Israel – today, “Israel” means all of mankind.

Format;

The prophesy calendar presented here is a sequence of 13 calendar years, from 2011 up to and including 2023. Months of both the Gregorian and Hebrew calendars are shown in the left margin. Dated prophesy from Haggai, Zechariah, and Ezekiel are arranged by their occurrence on the Hebrew calendar. Alongside are periods of time specified in God’s word. To the right are explanatory scriptures from the Bible, Apocrypha, and Enoch, arranged approximately where they fit on the 13yr timeline.

Start date; 5th April 2011 – [first day of the Hebrew year] 10 kings receive their authority.

This is the most likely start date for this 13yr timeline, based on the Jewish fasts endorsed by God, [Zechariah 8:19] the 1290 and 1335 day periods specified by God [Daniel 12:11,12] as well as other relevant prophesy periods, the arrangement of the modern Hebrew calendar, plus historical and current world events.

Update, 7 April 2011. I haven’t noticed any significant events surrounding the 5th of April 2011, certainly not the establishment of a global authority, which is what I was looking for. I am not planning to shift this timeline to another start date until it becomes obvious that the temple at Jerusalem is not rebuilt 2012. This is because, in my opinion, the temple is an unmistakable and non – negotiable prophesy marker concerning the end of this current age. So until the end of 2012 this timeline will remain as it is currently presented. I have included a section called “The Joker” in the appendix that discusses Isaiah 38:5 – an extra fifteen years.

The Jewish fasts endorsed by God; The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah.    Zechariah 8:19

17 Tammuz – fast of the 4th month – 23 July 2016; This day the Jews remember the abomination of desolation that the tribute collector of Antiochus Epiphanes set up in the Temple. [about 168BC - see 1 Maccabees 1:54] So by the prophet Zechariah, God has endorsed this fast 350 years before it had cause to exist, and by Jesus the Messiah, we know that the abomination will recur in the future. [Matthew 24:14-21] It did not occur when the Romans destroyed the temple 70AD.

 Because Jesus said; Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath, and God has also foretold; At that same time they defiled my sanctuary and desecrated my Sabbaths [Ezekiel 23:38-41], it seems likely that the abomination of desolation will occur the very day 17 Tammuz is also a 7th day Sabbath, as it is Saturday, 23 July 2016. This is the pivotal date for this timeline.

9 Av – fast of the 5th month – 13 August 2016; This day the Jews remember the destruction of the temple. In keeping with the recurring theme of history, both the Babylonians and the Romans destroyed the temple 9 Av. So expect it to happen again – this day the temple is burnt [Is 64:11, Ps 74:7], and the elders slain [Ezek 9:6].

 1, 10, 15 Tishri – fast of the 7th month – 30 Sept 2023; Rosh HaShanah [New year] Feast of trumpets; associated with resurrection, heralding a new king, and Judgment – our deeds exposed and recompense decided throughout 10 days, leading too – Yom Kippur [Day of atonement – 10 Tishri].

Sukkot [say; sue – coat; feast of booths – 15 Tishri]; This is a happy celebration, a harvest festival. It has much significance to the Jews. The two items of interest for this doctrine are; God dwelling with man, and the beginning of the Sabbath millennium of rest.

Because the Hebrew calendar is based on the lunar cycle, Rosh HaShanah always occurs at the new moon, and Sukkot at full moon. Therefore, Psalm 81 finds it’s significance with this feast;

Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre. Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our Feast…..    Psalm 81:1-3

From the….abomination….there will be 1290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1335 days.    Daniel 12:11,12

The 1290 + 1335 [=2625] days also find significance with Sukkot, because there is exactly 2625 days between Saturday, 17 Tammuz 2016 [abomination of desolation] and 15 Tishri 2023 [God with us];

Note; Hebrew calendar application of the leap month Adar 2 exclude some years from consideration. e.g. 17 Tammuz 2015 is also a Sabbath, but application of an additional 30 day leap month throws the arithmetic.

Other fasts of significance;

  • 10 Tevet 2020; Fast of the tenth month. The Jews remember the siege against Jerusalem. This occasion is referred too 10-10-9 of this timeline. [Ezekiel 24:1,2]

  • Pesach – 15 Nisan 2020; [passover] If history repeats itself, then the remnant of Israel will come out of captivity this day, and cross the Jordan into Israel 10 Nisan 2022 [nearly 2yrs later].

  • Purim – 15 Adar 2023; The Jews celebrate victory over their enemies. This timeline puts the destruction of Israel’s enemies from 1 Adar to 15 Adar 2023. [Ezekiel 32:1-32]

  • Shavuot – 6 Sivan ; Penticost, associated with marriage, and the giving of the Law.

  • Firstfruits – 20 Nisan 2017; The Lamb, standing on Mount Zion with 144000 firstfruits.

Other useful indicators;

 Sabbath Millennium of Rest – 2023 AD [creation +6023]

My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal [corrupt]; his days will be 120 years.    Genesis 6:3

Blessed and holy are those who have part of the first resurrection…. they will be priests of God and of the Messiah and will reign with him for a thousand years.    Revelation 20:6

He seized…Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.    Revelation 20:2

 If the 120yrs given to a corrupted mankind were jubilee years, which occur once every 50 years, then the length of our days of corruption would be 120 x 50 = 6000 years, or six millennial days. If Adam was corrupted by sin 23 years after he was created, then the days of in-corruption will recommence from 2023. When Satan is bound we will experience 1000 years of peace, a time when the kings and priests – the Sons of God – are revealed. We have completed approximately 6000 years of human history, and are due for this sabbath millennium. Coincidentally; Abraham was born creation +1948 years. The state of Israel was born 1948. God’s covenant with Abraham was made creation + 2023 years. The first resurrection will occur and the new covenant will be established 2023.

Israeli statehood – 65th anniversary – May 2013 – Ephraim shattered

Go out, you and your son Shear-Jashub [a remnant will return] to meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct of the upper pool, on the road to the washerman’s field….. Let us invade Judah….Within 65 years Ephraim will be too shattered to be a people.    Isaiah 7:3-9

But by biblical records, Ephraim was shattered within only 5 -21 years of this prophesy being made, that being the duration of King Ahaz reign. Also, the sign God gave to King Ahaz was that the virgin would bear a son called Immanuel [Isaiah 7:14]. If you agree that the sign was Jesus, born to Mary 750yrs later, then these two pointers suggest that the 65yr prophesy is of more significance for us than King Ahaz.

Interpretation; Within 65 years of the remnant returning to Israel [May 14 1948], Ephraim will have forsaken God and will become condemned by God as a people. On this timeline, 65 yrs is just after the confirming of a 7yr covenant [3 Feb 2013]. This, God has condemned as a “covenant with death” [see Isaiah 28:15,18]. If this interpretation falls flat, then I would change datums to the re-taking of Jerusalem in 1967, or add 15 years from Isaiah 38:5, rather than abandon the significance of this prophesy.

Israeli statehood – 80th anniversary – May 2028 – Jesus reigns on earth

Now learn this lesson from the fig tree; as soon as the twigs get tender and it’s leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these [end time events] have happened.    Matt 24:32-35

The length of our days is 70yrs, or 80 if we have the strength.    Psalm 90:10

If the fledgling Jewish nation of 1948 represented the first leaves of the fig tree, then those of us who have the strength to endure will see judgment completed and the kingdom of God established before 2028 [in 2023].

Ephraim’s exile is complete – 2012;

Our exile was to be 390yrs, [Ezekiel 4:5] multiplied seven times, [Leviticus 26] giving 2730 years. If we still don’t repent and return to God’s ways;..… then in my anger I will be hostile towards you, and I myself will punish you for your sins 7 times over. You will eat the flesh of your sons…. [may not mean literally, but who knows]. I will turn your cities into ruins and lay waste your sanctuaries….    Lev 26:27

This is exactly what is about to happen.

This prophesy model indicates Ephraim’s 2730 year exile is complete October 2012, at which point God calls us to return to his ways. This would mean our exile began 719BC. [A year is lost in transition from BC to AD] Most historians agree Ephraim’s exile occurred from 722BC to 719BC, but I’ve seen as late as 708BC asserted. The only real possibility that this prediction is awry is if a transcription error has occurred with Ezekiel’s 390 years. With support from the other indicators, this prediction ought to be reliable. Note:- The Mayan calendar stops at 2012AD.

The angels of the abyss bound until Judgment – [creation + 6023];

……the Lord said; Go and announce [his crime] to Samyaza, and to the others who are with him, who have been associated with women, that they might be polluted with all their impurity. ….bind them for seventy generations underneath the earth, even to the day of judgment and consummation, until the judgment [the effect of] which will last forever be completed. Then shall they be taken away into the lowest depths of the fire in torment, and in confinement shall they be shut up forever.    Enoch 10:15,16

A generation = 70 years. [Isaiah 23:15, Psalm 90:10] 70 generations = 4900 years.

Enoch was born; creation + 622, [Genesis 5:3-18] In his 500th year he saw a vision of God. [Enoch 58:1] Enoch was instructed to write the vision he had seen, then God would collect him one year later [Enoch 80] If the judgment against Samyaza and the other corrupt angels was made in his final year, then Judgment day will be creation + 622 + 500 + 1 + 4900 [= 6023]

EPHRAIM:-This doctrine refers to the people of Ephraim often. It is important to understand who these people are, in order to make sense of this prophesy timeline, and to hear what God has said about us in his word. The short answer is; If you are not Jewish, you are Ephraim. [Descended from the scattered 10 tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel.] You could study God’s word to work this out, or look at the article “God’s plan for Israel – God’s plan for you” on this website. God has said, indirectly, that all mankind carries the bloodline of Israel, [also known as Jacob] but this has to be deduced from the following series of scriptures;

For the LORD’s portion is his people, Jacob his alloted inheritance.    Deuteronomy 32:9

He who is the portion of Jacob…. is the maker of all things, including Israel, the tribe of his inheritance…    Jeremiah 10:16

Hear this word the LORD has spoken against you, O people of Israel – against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt: You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.    Amos 3:1,2

These scriptures make it plain that God has only chosen the natural descendants of Israel to be his inheritance. But in an apparent contradiction, God has also said;

Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for ALL the nations are your inheritance.    Psalm 82:8

 There are three possible explanations for this apparent contradiction:-

  1. The bloodline of Israel, the tribe of God’s inheritance, has sprinkled through all the nations of the earth, so that all of us, all the nations of the earth, are now Israel, God’s inheritance.

  2. God has broken his word and changed his mind. But God says he has not changed his mind;    God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.   Numbers 23:19    ….[God] does not take back his words.    Isaiah 31:2       But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.    Ps 33:11
  3. God never said this. Meaning that Psalm 82:8 is either a transcription or translation error, or that Psalm 82 was never inspired by God in the first place. We need 2 or more witnesses to establish a matter. Jesus has given us a parable, and a cryptic confirmation that Psalm 82:8 is God’s word;

The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough. Matthew 13:33. The yeast is Israel – God’s chosen, the holy people. They were scattered throughout the earth, and their bloodline mixed with the nations to make dough.

…you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the son of man comes. Matthew 10:23 In 2009, there are still tribes and languages of the earth’s inhabitants that have not heard the message of the kingdom of God – in fulfillment of Jesus statement. Meanwhile, the cities of the pint sized ‘country’ of Israel heard this message long ago. If you can’t recognize these sayings of Jesus as confirmation that we are all Israel, at least recognize that Psalm 82 is God’s word by the fact that Jesus quotes part of it. [John 10:34] Then explain this contradiction of God’s word to your own satisfaction.

The Law by which all of mankind will be judged;

For those of the Jewish faith, who do not acknowledge the authority of Jesus, support for this doctrine can be found by considering the application of Mosaic law. God has said that Israel is to be judged for their sin;

Hear this word the LORD has spoken against you, O people of Israel – against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt: You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.    Amos 3:1,2

 God has also said; “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind.” [Jeremiah 32:27] God is sovereign over all mankind, and is entitled to judge we non-Jewish however he sees fit, but has specifically said that we will all be judged for breaking the Mosaic covenant, whether we are Jew or gentile;

 So why is God judging the gentiles, that is, the non-Jewish, on the basis of a covenant that he never made with us? We have never agreed to come under this covenant by virtue of aligning with Israel – that is, by circumcision and keeping the law of Moses. The truth is, we are all descended from Israel, and we all come under this covenant whether we want too or not, because our forefathers made an agreement that is binding for all generations of their descendants. The gentiles are simply unaware that they have inherited the bloodline of Israel, and are obligated to this covenant;

I am making this covenant, with it’s oath, not only with you who are standing here with us today in the presence of the LORD our God but also with those who are not here today.     Deuteronomy 29:14

He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel. He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws.     Psalm 147:19,20

He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the Law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so that the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would teach their children. Then they would put their trust in God and not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.    Psalm 78:6,7

God told Abraham, the grandfather of Jacob / Israel, Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and though your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed.” [Genesis 22:17] Why should we be surprised that this has actually occurred?

Being descended of Israel is a blessing. It makes us eligible for God’s promises. Israel divided into 2 kingdoms about 3000 yrs ago, in the days of king Rehoboam of Judah, and king Jeroboam of Ephraim. These two kingdoms will soon be reunited, when David is our eternal king. [see Ezekiel 37:15-28]

The southern kingdom of Judah [the Jews] contains the tribes; Judah, Benjamin, and most of Levi.

The northern kingdom of Israel contains 10 tribes; Reuben, Simeon, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Manasseh, and Ephraim. The 10 tribes were exiled from the land of Israel about 720BC, and have not yet returned. The scattered 10 tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel are variously referred to in prophesy as Israel, Samaria, Joseph, House of Jeroboam, or Ephraim.

When God speaks about Israel, we naturally think he means the Jews, who correctly claim descent from Israel, and who now possess the land of Israel. But often he is talking about everyone except the Jews, whom he calls Judah. In many of the scriptures quoted in this doctrine, the name Israel has been replaced with [Ephraim], in an effort to clarify who God is referring too. In the simplest terms, Judah usually means Jewish, Israel usually means the gentiles, and Ephraim usually means the gentiles.

Loose ends;

  • There is a 7 day difference between the treaty – 3 Feb 2013, and the first day of the 1260 days of prophesy – 10 Feb 2013. I have related this to Ezekiel’s 7 days delay prior to receiving God’s word of prophesy. [Ezekiel 3:15] If this is the truth, the significance of the 7 days is unclear.

  • Ezekiel’s 5-6-6 dated prophesy, [Ezekiel 8:1+] about the idol, idolatry, sealing of the elect, destruction of God’s people, and his presence departing from us, doesn’t fall in either of the months Tammuz or Av, even though Tammuz is mentioned. I consider this is due to a transcription error

  • Ezekiel’s 1-1-27 dated prophesy [Ezekiel 29:17 – 30:19] is completely off the chart. I have taken the liberty of placing it where it fits best; 1-1-12. The rationale being that it is probably a transcription error, and fits the story well at year 12.

UPDATE: – My attention has been drawn to a prediction by Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel, made during the 13th century. It seems to be a credible prophesy. In consequence I now believe that Ezekiel’s 1-1-27 prophesy should be placed 20-1-7 [14-4-2017 on this timeline – the day of firstfruits ]. Ben Samuel’s and Ezekiel’s prophesies are discussed in an appendix that follows.

 Despite these flaws in this doctrine, make sure you read Ezekiel from start to finish. It most definitely tells the story of the Judgment we are facing in the near future. Chapters 36 to 48 is the future kingdom, with the new covenant [36:27], resurrection [37:11], marriage of Judah and Ephraim [37:15], David as our eternal prince [37:24], and God’s throne established forever [43:7]. Chapter 39 is the destruction of the rebellious nations pre-millennium [see Revelation 14:17-20, 16:12-16, 19:17-21], Chapter 38 the destruction of the rebellious nations post-millennium. [see Rev 20:7-9]. Make sure you read all there is to read concerning the temple dimensions and layout. [Ezekiel 40,41,42] God says this will convince us of our error;

Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins.     Ezekiel 43:10

Errors in the Bible [....the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely. Jeremiah 8:8];

Some will be offended at this suggestion, so here are a few you can easily prove yourself;

  • Compare the list of exiles returning from Babylon; Nehemiah 7:6, Ezra 2:1 and 1 Esdras 5:7. I have tabulated these lists and count 26 numerical errors, and an erroneous double listing.

  • Thus was the holy house finished in the three and twentieth day of the month Adar…1 Esdras 7:5 Compare; The temple was completed on the third day of the month Adar.... Ezra 6:15

  • Hardly a page of God’s word goes by without at least one notation of an alternate phrase, from a secondary source. So which was the original?

  • Exodus 12:40 says Israel was in captivity 430 years. Compare the lineage of Aaron. [Exodus 6:16-20] Kohath went into Egypt, [Gen 46:11] and lived 133 years. Amram lived 137 years, and Aaron was 83 [Exodus 7:7] when they came out of Egypt - only 353 years in total.

  • The same conflict occurs when comparing the period from Joshua to David. It’s about 470 yrs, yet by lineage; Salmon / Rahab of Jericho – Boaz / Ruth of Moab – Obed – Jesse – David, only four generations. In this case, there must be at least seven missing generations. In order for God to legitimately choose David as King, he would have to be at least eleven generations removed from Ruth, the Moabitess. [see Deuteronomy 23:3] By comparison, there were 12 generations of the Levitical priesthood, from Eleazar to Johanan, for a similar period. That is, from Joshua’s day up to the rule of David’s son Solomon. [see 1 Chronicles 6:4-10]

 The New Testament;

Jesus is the Word of God. [Rev 19:13] Whatever he said is truth, but he hasn’t been quoted 100% accurately. The crucial misquote is; This cup is the new covenant in my blood… Luke 22:20. [Compare with Matt 26:28, Mark 14:24, John 13-17, Exodus 24:8]. The cup symbolized Jesus blood of the Mosaic covenant, the one he came to fulfill as the passover lamb. [see Matt 5:17].

 If Luke had not misquoted Jesus, the false belief that we are already under a ‘new’ covenant could not have occurred, and Paul’s “Grace not Law” doctrine would not be accepted. This doctrine will kill you. Paul’s word is not God’s word. [see 1 Corinthians 7:12] An easy compare is Gal 3:17, against Exodus12:40. Paul quotes the captivity, [430yrs] rather than the period between covenants, an additional 215 years. But these are only pointers. Once you understand what God has said through the prophets, you’ll realize that half of Paul’s teaching is incorrect. Paul was a servant of God, and an exceptional servant at that, but he did not disciple under Jesus. If you trust his word in preference to Jesus, you will be disgraced by the coming Judgment.

APPENDIX

 Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel; “Some 800 years ago in Germany, Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel was a top Talmudic scholar with an inclination for the mystical. Before he died in 1217 he prophesied that the Ottoman turks would conquer Jerusalem and rule the Holy city for eight jubilee years [400yrs]. Afterwards, according to Ben Samuel, the Ottomans would be driven out of Jerusalem, which would remain a no-man’s land for one Jubilee year [50yrs]. In the tenth jubilee year Jerusalem would return to the Jewish people and then the Messianic end times would begin.” [Ludwig Schneider, Israel Today, March 2008, page 18]

 I have not seen the wording of this prophesy myself. According to Mr Schneider, the Rabbi probably formulated this prediction by examining the writings of God’s prophets, the same way you and I do. The prediction has come true so far, so it should be taken seriously [see Deuteronomy 18:22].

  • 1517 – The Ottoman Turks defeated the Marluks and ruled Jerusalem for 400yrs as predicted.

  • 1917 – General Allenby’s British Anzacs took control of Jerusalem from the Turks. The Balfour declaration made Jerusalem an international city – becoming a no-man’s land as predicted.

  • 1967- The Jews took control of Jerusalem during the Six day war, and up until this day.

  • 2017 – The Messianic kingdom is predicted to commence. This equates to year 7 on Ezekiel’s timeline, which is why I now believe that the prophesy; On that day I will make a horn grow for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. [Ezekiel 29:21] which is dated 1-1-27, would originally have been dated 20-1-7 – the day of firstfruits [which equates to 14 April 2017 on this timeline]. The word “horn” signifies strength or kingship.

If the next jubilee year is 2017, then recurring history is evident once again in the Ezekiel timeline, because the new temple is due to be destroyed by fire a year earlier [9 Av, year 6, 13-8-2016]. Historians put the destruction of the first temple as 585BC, which was a year before the jubilee year 584BC. Historians usually put the Roman destruction of the temple in the year 70AD. If this destruction actually occurred 66AD, which is at least a possibility, then the pattern would be complete, as 67AD was the jubilee year. This reasoning may or may not have validity. My point is that the Rabbi’s prediction does not indicate a need to shift the entire Ezekiel timeline to a different start date, only this one prophesy requires adjustment..

Ezekiel’s 1-1-27 prophesy; On that day I will make a horn [kingdom] grow for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. [Ezekiel 29:21] I am confident this prophesy equates to John’s revelation about the Lamb standing on Mount Zion with 144000 “firstfruits” of the kingdom. [see Revelation 14:1-5] Far from being a time of rejoicing for the rest of God’s family, the advent of Jesus return will be the time of our great shame. The real Jesus will be revealed, and our idolatry concerning the worship of a false Jesus, and other false gods, exposed. The “opening of Ezekiel’s mouth among us” signifies that we at last become receptive of Ezekiel’s message, a message already available to whoever cares to look, one which blasts Israel into shame – we have not obeyed God. Consider the following prophesies;

 144000 untouchables; Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it. Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and kill, without showing pity or compassion… but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at the sanctuary. So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple. Ezekiel 9:4-6 [In the context of this prophesy, consider Jerusalem to denote the family of God. For more about the mark of God see Revelation 7:3]

The sinners in Zion are terrified [those believers who don't see a need to obey God's Law], trembling grips the godless: Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? He who walks uprightly and speaks what is right [the 144000 – no lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless – see Revelation 14:5]…. this is the man who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress.     Isaiah 33:14-16

 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiners fire…     Malachi 3:2

 Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? That day will be darkness, not light.     Amos 5:18 [similar to Zephaniah 1:16-18, Ezekiel 7:17-19]

 See, the LORD rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. The idols of Egypt tremble before him, and the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them.     Isaiah 19:1

And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians. Everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified because of what the LORD is planning against them.     Isaiah 19:17 [also see Isaiah 17:7-9]

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; God makes salvation it’s walls and ramparts. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith….. Yes LORD, walking in the ways of your Laws, we wait for you….     Isaiah 26:1-8

 Don’t be comforted by the fact that this last group of prophesies are addressed to Egypt. In the context of Isaiah 19, Egypt are God’s people. [see Isaiah 19:25] The reason the mention of Judah [the Jews] will bring terror to the rest of us is because of our guilt in sending the Jews up for destruction. For this alone Jesus will destroy us. Whoever harms a Jew or fails to show mercy may as well have poked God in the eye. [see Zechariah 2:8] On the other hand, blessed are the merciful, they shall receive mercy. Giving aid to the Jews, combined with obeying God’s Law, is probably our best hope of surviving God’s judgment.

 Daniels prophesy timeline – seventy “sevens” [Daniel 9:24-27];

 I am able to make Daniel’s prophesy match the Ezekiel timeline as it is currently presented, but not without some creative reasoning. The Hebrew word translated as “sevens” is shavous, which is the plural of shavout [feast of Penticost], but can also mean “seven”. What this means is that the same word “shavout” could mean one year – because Penticost is a once a year feast, and could also be interpreted as one “seven” meaning seven years. I have used both interpretations in order to make this prophesy fit, and have placed them where appropriate in the Daniel 9 prophesies that follow;

 Seventy years of desolation for Jerusalem;

Then the angel of the LORD said, LORD Almighty, how long will you withhold mercy from Jerusalem and from the towns of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?     Zechariah 1:12

In the first year of Darius, son of Ahasuerus the Mede, who was made ruler over the Babylonian kingdom – in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the scriptures, according to the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.     Daniel 9:1,2 [also see Jeremiah 25:11, 29:10]

 Seventy Penticosts [70yrs] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophesy and to anoint the most holy [the future kings and priests of God's kingdom].     Daniel 9:24

 By aligning these three scriptures, it is evident that Daniel 9:24 indicates a 70 year period of desolation for Jerusalem, and that it means the same 70yrs that Jeremiah and Zechariah were talking about. But 70yrs were not fully served in Daniel’s time. Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed 9 Av in the year 585BC. Work began on building the second temple about 521BC – 24 Elul in the second year of Darius [see Haggai 1:14,15]. So that is only 64 Penticosts, meaning 64 years, and to fit this doctrine properly, actually only 63years.

 The remaining six or seven Penticosts will be served in our time – soon. There are six Penticosts in the 2300 days between the abomination of desolation and the reconsecration of the temple [see Daniel 8:14] Alternatively, there are seven Penticosts in the 2695 days [see Daniel 12:11] between the abomination of desolation 2016 and the resurrection / atonement / God with us, which occurs 2023. The latter option is the one I prefer, because it signals the commencement of the new covenant, with the associated anointing of the most holy, and everlasting righteousness, as stated in Daniel 9:24.

Seventy years for Babylon;

This is what the LORD says, when seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfil my gracious promise to bring you back to this place.     Jeremiah 29:10

Because you have not listened to my words, I will summon all the peoples of the north [the northern kingdom of Israel / the gentiles] and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, declares the LORD, and I will bring them against this land and it’s inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin….. This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. But when seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt, declares the LORD, and will make it desolate forever.      Jeremiah 25:8-12

It doesn’t take much thought or research to realize that this prophesy was not fulfilled in Nebuchadnezzar’s day, but will be fulfilled in our day.  Additional support for splitting up the 70 yrs into two different eras is found from considering this next prophesy;

All nations will serve Nebuchadnezzar and his son and his grandson until the time for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate him.     Jeremiah 27:7

 The fulfillment of this prophesy remains in the future. Nebuchadnezzar’s dynasty lasted from about 602BC till about 539BC, ending prematurely after approximately 63 years with Belshazzar’s death. He was Nebuchadnezzar’s son, a fact repeatedly stated in Daniel 5. So we can expect another descendant or “grandson” of Nebuchadnezzar, to rule during the end times for a further 7 years, to complete this dynasty, and to fulfill the prophesies of Jeremiah 25:8-14, 27:7 and 29:10.

Furthermore, Babylon is to be the hammer of the whole earth [Jer 50:23, 51:25], which it wasn’t. It will be completely destroyed forever [Jer 50:26, 50:39, 51:26, Rev 18:21], which it wasn’t until years later, only to be rebuilt by Saddam Hussein. It will make the whole earth drunk with her wine [deception], so they all go mad [Jeremiah 51:7, Revelation 18:3], which didn’t happen, but will. The concept of an end time seven year rule for Nebuchadnezzar fits one of the riddles of the book of Revelation;

The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.

This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills upon which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.

The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is the Lord of lords and King of kings – and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.       Revelation 17:8-11

Ten kings – probably mortal kings of earthly kingdoms, since they only exist for one hour. Probably a global confederacy of political kingdoms, rather than of religions, which tend to be more enduring. Psalm 83 recites a list of ten kingdoms which conspire against Israel, to destroy them from the earth. They are; Edom, Ishmael, Moab, the Hagrites, Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia, Tyre, and Assyria. Another list of ten kingdoms is found in Jeremiah chapters 46-51; Egypt, Philistia, Moab, Ammon, Edom, Damascus [Aram], Kedar, Hazor, Elam, and Babylon. By my doctrine, we are all descended from these ancient kingdoms by the inevitable process of integration. By this I mean that when a man desires a particular woman, then no law, or racial prejudice, or anything else on earth will stop him, and just one of his offspring will eventually integrate two nations into one in God’s sight.

The Woman is Babylon -  all religions that don’t fully uphold God’s Law. This means every religion.

Seven kings - probably; Assyria, Babylon, Media, Persia, Greece, Egypt, Tyre. These are the kings named in prophesy, sometimes denoting a mortal man, sometimes denoting a spirit being. [See Ezekiel 28:1-10 - mortal king of Tyre, and Ezekiel 28:11-19 - spirit king of Tyre.]   So it looks like these seven are spiritual kingdoms that, in the end times, will be endowed on just one man. This man is known to Christians as the Antichrist, who is allied to seven unclean spirits. All these kingdoms will be destroyed at the same time. [See Daniel 2:35]

This riddle from Revelation fits other prophesies best if the eighth king,  the "beast", is a confederacy of seven spirit kings, one from each of the seven earthly kingdoms of each age, that come up from the Abyss, and inhabit one man, he being the seventh and last earthly king to rule;

A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit. Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart. His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.      Proverbs 26:24-26

The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods….. He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all. Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses, a god unknown to his fathers…. He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god…..  Daniel 11:36-38

Note; He has no god except himself, yet he does have a god that he honors and who helps him. A possible explanation for this conflict is that his soul is unified with the unclean spirits  from the Abyss, so that when he exalts himself he is also honoring the god of fortresses. Another possibility is that the "soul" of the Antichrist has already departed in death, and only the unclean spirits remain to give his physical body life and voice. [See Revelation 13:3 and 3:11-15]  This scripture from Daniel says the god of fortresses was "unknown" to his fathers, yet examining the root Hebrew suggests this god was "known" to his forefathers. Example; The spirit known by Nebuchadnezzar returning to his descendant. A scholar of the Hebrew language may be able to give a correct verdict on this possibility. Every bible translation agrees on the word "unknown", and in context it reads correctly.

Appoint the Evil One to oppose him; let Satan stand at his right hand. When he is tried, let him be found guilty, and may his prayers condemn him.      Psalm 109:6,7

They misled you and overcame you – those trusted friends of yours. Your feet are sunk in mud; your friends have deserted you.      Jeremiah 38:22

All your allies will force you to the border; your friends will deceive and overpower you; those who eat your bread will set a trap for you, but you will not detect it.     Obadiah 7

Note; The Hebrew term for “trusted friends” is ‘enowsh shalowm, or peaceful mortal, so Jer 38:22 does not truly indicate that these friends are unclean spirits. Same applies to “friends” in Obadiah 7.   However, Revelation 16:13-16 and 19:19-21 state that three unclean spirits will gather the kings and armies of the earth to their doom, and from other prophesies I know that this will occur at the border of Israel.

Sixty nine years until the ruler comes;

Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the anointed one, the ruler, comes, there will be seven Penticosts and sixty two Penticosts [69years]…..The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue to the end, and desolations have been decreed.     Daniel 9:25,26

 You may have noticed that I have previously used two different datums – 585BC for Jerusalem’s 70yr desolation, and 602BC for Nebuchadnezzar’s 70yr dynasty. Here is a third datum – being the UN resolution to establish Israel, November 1947. The sixty ninth Penticost following this date occurs Sivan [June] 2016. According to Ezekiel’s timeline as currently presented, Nebuchadnezzar comes and abominates the temple the very next month, 23 July 2016. So if you accept the 1947 datum, this is a very precise fitting of prophesy. Also, it would indicate that the division of 69yrs into 62 and 7yrs was only a smokescreen that God threw in to keep us all guessing. That is well worth thinking about if you want to unravel God’s mysteries, as I do.

After the ruler comes the godly will be destroyed;

After the sixty two Penticosts, the anointed one [Israel] will be cut off and have nothing [or no one].    Daniel 9:26

To make this work, I maintain that 62yrs follows 7yrs to give July 2016, but determine that the “anointed one” now refers to God’s inheritance, not the ruler. None of Daniel 9 resembles times or conditions that match either of Jesus the Messiah’s comings, which is what I had been led to believe for years. Here are some prophesies that fit with the Godly being cut off and destroyed;

 Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.     [Jesus] Matthew 24:9 [also see Mark 13:12,13, Luke 21:12-18]

I saw that the woman [Babylon] was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.    Revelation 17:6

In fierce anger he has cut off every horn of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy.     Lamentations 2:3

They will begin to waste away under the oppression of the mighty king.     Hosea 8:10

He will destroy the mighty men and the holy people.     Daniel 8:24

If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.     Revelation 13:10

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.     Revelation 6:9

When the power of the holy people has finally been broken, all these things will be completed.     Daniel 12:7

Help LORD, for the godly are no more; the faithful have vanished from among men…. “I will now arise,” says the LORD.      Psalm 12:1-5

The LORD will judge his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free.     Deuteronomy 32:36

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.     Psalm 116:15

Seven year covenant;

[The ruler] will confirm a covenant with many for one “seven” [7yrs]. In the middle of the “seven” he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.     Daniel 9:27

 Here the secondary meaning of the word “shavout” is employed, to give the traditional 7yr interpretation. This 7yr covenant does not adjoin or relate to any of the 70, 7, or 62 Penticosts already mentioned, but simply fits where it fits, with it’s 3 1/2 yr midpoint set at the abomination of desolation 23 July 2016. Regarding this covenant, God says;

Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the grave will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it. As often as it comes it will carry you away…     Isaiah 28:18

My companion attacks his friends; he violates his covenant. His speech is smooth as butter, but war is in his heart….     Psalm 55:20

The treaty is broken, the witnesses are despised, no one is respected. The land mourns and wastes away… “Now I will arise,” says the LORD.     Isaiah 33:8

Also consider Ezekiel 17 and Jeremiah 34: 8-22

Forty years exile for Judah [Ezekiel 4:6];

The last Jewish exiles taken away in captivity to Babylon departed 5yrs after Jerusalem was destroyed, in Nebuchadnezzar’s 23rd year [see Jeremiah 52:29,30]. So that would have been 580BC. Cyrus is reputed to have conquered Babylon in 539BC. According to Ezra’s account, Cyrus issued a decree for the restoration of Jerusalem and the temple in the first year of his reign, and it seems that the Jews went back to Judah immediately, that is, in the same year 539BC. That would mean 41 years of Jewish exile from the land. So that would account for the 40 years of exile for Judah , supposing that the history records are probably a little off. [I'd rather trust Ezekiel's prophesy, and suggest the Jews returned 540BC.]

 Meanwhile, the Jews are confident their exile was 48 years, from the sacking of Jerusalem 585BC to a return in the year 537BC [subtract from this 5 years for the 580BC exiles]. If that is correct, then we must use an earlier return to Jerusalem of some stray Israelites of the exiled northern kingdom, in order to find fulfillment of Ezekiel’s prophesy for Judah’s 40yr exile. This is possible, but seems a bit lame as an explanation. It would depend on the northern Israelites being considered to be “Jews” on arrival at Jerusalem for the wording of Ezekiel’s prophesy to be satisfied. That at least is possible, as the tribes mentioned are Judah, Benjamin, Levi [the Jewish tribes], Ephraim and Manasseh [the non Jewish tribes]. Their return is briefly documented in 1 Chronicles 9:1,2, but without any clues as to when this return occurred.

 The bible records are rather a mess when you attempt to pin all this down to a reliable doctrine, especially when you consider how many books of the bible concern the Exile to Babylon, and the return to Judah and Jerusalem.

“The Joker” in the prophesy timeline;

Isaiah 38:5, God promises an additional 15 years of life for king Hezekiah, our royal ancestor from the line of David. Because all prophesy is still current, this may come into effect with the timing of God’s judgment against us. Aside from this 15yr prophesy, the timeline I have presented here integrates all the prophesy I have yet found into a logical time sequence. Even the start date of 5th April 2011 still seems to be the logical one, and yet nothing of any note happened on this date. I was expecting a global political or religious authority to be established in order to kick things off. Since that hasn’t happened, I will present my ideas of how a 15yr extension of grace might play out.

 This 15yr prophesy does not integrate with the other prophesies. It is unsupported by the scriptures I have seen, except for Isaiah 48 [see below] where God says he will delay his wrath against us, so that we will not be completely destroyed. This scripture, and a few others that I will present here, form the basis for my interpretation of Hezekiah’s 15yr life extension. It is good news for us, assuming we use those extra years for repentance and obedience. It means that by God’s mercy we will not get the punishment we deserve. Although the prophesies are mostly “doom and gloom” concerning our rebellion, and destruction, there are a few that offer a ray of hope;

Do not fear, O Jacob my servant, for I am with you, declares the LORD. Though I completely destroy the nations amongst which I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you, but only with justice; I will not let you go entirely unpunished.        Jeremiah 46:28   [similar to Jeremiah 30:11]

Gods delays his wrath;

Listen to this, O house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and come from the line of Judah, you who take oaths in the name of the LORD and invoke the God of Israel – but not in truth or righteousness – you who call yourselves citizens of the holy city and rely on the God of Israel – the LORD Almighty is his name: I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted and they came to pass….. From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you…..

 Well do I know how treacherous you are; you were called a rebel from birth. For my own name’s sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold my wrath back from you, so as not to cut you off. See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.     Isaiah 48:1-10

Note; On first impression this scripture is addressed exclusively to Judah, but upon further reflection it could in fact mean all the servants of God. Whatever the case, effectively it means a delay in God’s judgment, which I am confident will start with Judah, then progress to the rest of God’s servants, and finish with the destruction of the ungodly. The next prophesy from Hosea has the same theme – our rebellion, and God’s mercy;

My people are determined to turn from me. Even if they call to the Most High, he will by no means exalt them. How can I give you up Ephraim? How can I hand you over Israel? How can I treat you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused. I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I turn and devastate Ephraim. [Ephraim is the flock marked for slaughter - see Zechariah 11, Hosea 5:9] For I am God, and not man – the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath. They will follow the LORD; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west. They will come trembling like birds from Egypt, like doves from Assyria. I will settle them in their homes, declares the LORD.      Hosea 11:7-11

 Note; Also see Hosea 3:5, which marks this Hosea 11 prophesy as an end time event. The cities of Admah and Zeboiim were completely destroyed, along with Sodom and Gomorrah. [see Deuteronomy 29:23] My interpretation of the term “he will by no means exalt them” is that these people are spared destruction, but will probably not become the “sons of God”. To be exalted by God is beyond our comprehension. The best indication from the bible is Daniel 12:3, which says that those who are wise will shine like the stars.

 Where God says he is not like man, I think it means that, being holy, he is not personally affected by our rebellion against his law. It is only we ourselves that are harmed, because the laws were given for our good. “Am I the one they are provoking? Are they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame?”   [Jeremiah 7:19, also see Job 35:6-8] Therefore, God is not motivated by vengeance, but compassion. However, if we turn and harm, or ignore our fellow man, we are in fact abusing God’s children, which does hurt God. “Whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.” [Zechariah 2:8, also see Matthew 25:45] For this God will take vengeance. [see Deuteronomy 32:43]

If God is offering an extension of grace, then what I hope will happen is that Ephraim’s 2730 year exile will still be completed at the appointed time, the temple will still be rebuilt at the appointed time, and the latter day blessing will still be given at the appointed time. All this in 2012 by my reckoning. BUT; the false kingdom, the seven year treaty, the abomination of desolation, and the associated destruction of earth’s inhabitants will be delayed 15 years. This gives more time and opportunity for earths inhabitants to repent and bind themselves to God’s holy law. So the telling point for me will be whether or not the temple is rebuilt in 2012, with still no emergence of a false kingdom.

In Ezekiel 18 God says; Why will you die, O house of Israel? Repent and live! – and names the conduct that leads to life. God’s word mostly blasts us for disobedience, predicting almost complete destruction, but there is suggestion that some will repent and live. Here follows the escape clause in scripture, whereby God need not carry out his words of utter destruction. This was true for the city of Ninevah, according to the book of Jonah. But it was only a delay. Eventually Ninevah was destroyed;

If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of it’s evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned.        Jeremiah 18:8

An extra fifteen years of mercy;

Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says, “I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David…..

What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the LORD on the third day from now?….. It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps… rather, have it go back ten steps…. and the LORD made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.       2 Kings 20:5-11

Compare that scripture with Hosea’s prophesy;

Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises he will appear……     Hosea 6:1-3

Note; The common theme of going up to God on the third day suggests the same time period for both these prophesies. If so, this contradicts my theory that God will allow us an additional fifteen years of grace prior to judgment, because the Hosea prophesy fits the post judgment period, being three days [3 years] between the saints coming out from captivity, until the reconsecration of the temple. If this is true then we are back where we started – the three days integrates with other prophesy, but the fifteen years doesn’t fit anything else.

Another possibility is that such a sign in the sun will occur in our time, in order to call the faithful to go up to the altar of God in three literal days. That doesn’t allow much time to comply, unless the faithful are already prepared and waiting for such a sign. The possibility intrigues me however, because I am expecting there will be a call to God’s altar for the elect, in order to receive the anointing of kingship. [see Jeremiah 3:14,15]    I associate this anointing with the “latter rain blessing” described in Deuteronomy 11:13 and Haggai 2:18, because the elect will lead us in righteousness;

The remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the LORD, like showers on the grass, which do not wait for man or linger for mankind. [See Ezekiel 3:27, Revelation 22:11 - whoever will listen, let him listen.] The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion amongst the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which mauls and mangles as it goes, and no-one can rescue. Your hand will be lifted up in triumph over your enemies, and all your foes will be destroyed.     Micah 5:7-9

Note; If the word “remnant” were changed to “elect”, this scripture would make more sense, and fit other prophesy better. This could reasonably be justified from the root Hebrew word – sh’eriyth, which means remnant, or residue – if the elect are the residue of Israel that actually receive in full what God has promised to all of us. Everybody else is also blessed, but fall short of receiving our full inheritance. First impressions are that this prophesy best fits the post judgment period, but not entirely. There is a supporting scripture in Revelation that fits the pre-judgment period;

And I will give power to my two witnesses [Judah and Ephraim] and they will prophesy for 1260 days, clothed in sackcloth [clothed in repentance]…… If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. [not literal fire – it is the word of God they speak that will devour the godless.] These men have the power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn water into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want…… The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them… because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.     Revelation 11:3-10

I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city….. This is the LORD’s sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.” So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.      Isaiah 38:5-8

Note; This miraculous sign is curious. Why did God choose Ahaz’ steps for a sign? This was an illegitimate altar that stood in the courtyard of the temple. [see 2 Kings 16:10-18] When Hezekiah became king he immediately set about restoring the priesthood and the temple. He destroyed the Asherah poles and high places of worship throughout Judah. So why, 14 years later, was his father’s idolatrous altar still before the temple? This may relate to a prophesy of Enoch that follows. According to Enoch’s vision, three men go up to restore the temple and the altar, but the altar is unclean. The three men of Enoch’s vision are probably Joshua, Zerubbabel, and Eliakim, not three individual men, but representative of the 144,000 of Revelation 7 and 14, also described as the house of David;

Behold three of the sheep departed, arrived, went in, and began building all which was fallen down of that house. But the wild boars hindered them, although they prevailed not. Again they began to build as before, and raised up that tower, which was called a lofty tower. And again they began to place before the tower a table, with every unclean kind of bread on it.      Enoch 88:110 [also see Haggai 2:14, Malachi 1:7, Zechariah 3:3]

It seems the sign God gave Hezekiah of the retreating shadow was not simply a localized phenomenon. The sun actually went back, or rather, the earth counter-rotated to produce this sign, judging by the fact that envoys arrived from Babylon to investigate. [see 2 Chronicles 32:31] This introduces the possibility that every one of us will witnessing such a sign in our days. This fits what Jesus said;

There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.       Luke 21:25,26

Do not learn the ways of the nations, or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them….. But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.       Jeremiah 10:2,10

Behold, the days shall come that they which dwell upon the earth shall be taken in great number. The way of truth shall be hidden, and the land shall be barren of faith. Iniquity shall increase above that which you now see, or have heard of from long ago. The land that you now see to have root you shall suddenly see laid waste.

But if the Most High grant that you live, you shall see after the third trumpet that the sun shall suddenly shine again in the night, and the moon three times in the day. And blood shall drop out of wood, and stone shall give voice, and the people shall be troubled. And he will rule, whom the inhabitants of the earth sought not.

And birds will take flight, and the Sodomite sea shall cast out it’s fish, and make a noise in the night which many have not known, but they shall all hear it’s voice. There shall be confusion in many places, and the fire shall be sent out often again. Wild beasts shall change their places, and menstruous women shall bring forth monsters, salt water shall be found in place of sweet.

Friends shall destroy one another. Reason and wisdom shall be withdrawn, and will be sought but not found. Then unrighteousness will be multiplied upon the earth.      2 Esdras 5:1-10

Note; The third trumpet is named in Revelation 8:10. From here on, John’s vision names bitter water and great signs in the sun, moon and stars, more or less matching that part of Ezra’s vision. The first four trumpets of Revelation 8 appear to be warnings for mankind, while the sixth trumpet heralds the death of one third of mankind, so must be well into the judgment period. A 15 year period of grace could fit prophesies from the book of Revelation, albeit there will be warning judgments that will make life extremely uncomfortable for us, to lead us to repent;

When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil, and regard not the majesty of the LORD.      Isaiah 26:9

The term “land of uprightness” gives me hope that whole nations will reconstitute their laws to match God’s Law, and will survive the Judgment. This is not as far fetched as it may seem. There is a scripture from Ezekiel that aligns with this prophesy;

On the mountains of Israel [Gog] will fall, you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you to all kinds of carrion birds and to the wild animals. [see Revelation 19] You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD. I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in safety in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the LORD…. It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the Sovereign LORD. This is the day I have spoken of.     Ezekiel 39:4-8

This is the final act of the Judgment, and yet there are those who have lived in safety up until now. There is only one way this can be true, and that is by the protective word of God. In my opinion, these coastlands must have repented and returned to God’s way in order to receive this protection. To be sure, God will send fire [his word] against these coastlands at the final judgment, in order to exterminate from among them the wicked that remain. These have been sheltered up until then by virtue of living among a righteous nation. They will be stoned to death by God’s warriors. [See Revelation 16:21, Zechariah 9:15] I hope New Zealand and Australia will be included among those nations who repent, but I have no proof from scripture that this will be the case. The strongest pointer I know of is from Isaiah. It doesn’t name Australia and New Zealand, but there is cause for hope;

Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light for the nations. My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.      Isaiah 51:4,5

God’s requirements are that we should act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before God [Micah 6:8] In practice, the conduct of a righteous nation are to fear God, to seek and inquire of him, [walk humbly] obey his commandments, [act justly] and to show mercy to the oppressed. [love mercy] The following scriptures place these characteristics of righteousness within promises of life, of health, and of being spared from destruction;

Act justly and live;

The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just. The law of his God is in his heart; his feet do not slip….. Wait for the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it….. The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in times of trouble. The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.     Psalm 37:30-40

Suppose there is a righteous man who does what is just and right. He does not eat at the mountain shrines or look to the idols of the house of Israel. [our churches and synagogues with their defiled teaching.] He does not defile his neighbors wife or lie with a woman during her period. He does not oppress anyone, but returns what he took in pledge for a loan. He does not commit robbery but gives his food for the hungry and provides clothing for the naked. He does not lend at usury or take excessive interest. He withholds his hand from doing wrong and judges fairly between man and man. He follows my decrees and faithfully keeps my laws. That man is righteous. He will surely live, declares the Sovereign LORD.       Ezekiel 18:5-9

Love mercy and live;

Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble. The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes. The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness. I said, “O LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”…. But you, O LORD, have mercy on me; raise me up, that I may repay [my enemies]. I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.        Psalm 41:1-11

Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: “Here am I.” If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourself in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.           Isaiah 58:9-11 [Make sure to read all of this chapter.]

Walk humbly and live;

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock…… To you, O my heart, he has said, “Seek my face!” Your face, LORD, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior…… I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.         Psalm 27:5-14

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; there faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him from all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.       Psalm 34:4-7

Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise – in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thank offerings to you. For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the land of the living.         Psalm 56:9-13

No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his own strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance. But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.        Psalm 33:16-20

Reforms for a righteous nation;

The reforms of Hezakiah and Josiah are the kinds of reforms we need to be looking at as nations if we are to escape destruction. For survival as individuals, we need to obey the Law. [see Ezekiel 18] For survival as a nation, the start point is for our leaders to write for themselves a copy of the Law and to keep it with them all the days of their life. [see Deuteronomy 17:18] It is also true that for this to occur, the servants of God need to repent and seek God first. [see 1 Kings 8:46-51] On becoming king over Judah, Hezekiah said to the Levites;

Consecrate yourselves now and consecrate the temple of the LORD, the God of your fathers. Remove all the defilement from the sanctuary. Our fathers were unfaithful; they did evil in the sight of the LORD our God and forsook him. They turned their faces away from the LORD’s dwelling place and turned their backs on him……. Now I intend to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger will turn away from us. My sons, do not be negligent now….        2 Chronicles 29:5-11

Note; Hezekiah was only 25 at the time, and the Levites were not his sons. But you and I are Levites, and we are descended from Hezekiah, so this message is for us. This awakening follows the footsteps of Abraham, who turned his back on the land of his father, and of his fathers gods, to follow the ways of the LORD. Likewise, it is now time for us to forsake the false gods we have inherited from our fathers, or invented for ourselves, and return to God’s ways. This means a return to the Law, and to Israel within our hearts, and, for every adult male, a return in person to the temple at Jerusalem at least three times a year for God’s appointed feasts. There are no exceptions. No living being is excused from obedience to the God who created us.

A final consideration concerning the integration of Hezekiahs 15 years into end time prophesy is that it would allow Joseph’s interpretation of seven years of plenty and seven years of famine to fit the pre-judgment equation. This may mean material gain and loss, but I certainly think it will mean spiritual blessing [the latter rain – Deuteronomy 11:13, 15:6, 28:12, Haggai 2:18, Malachi 3:10-12] followed by spiritual famine;

The days are coming, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I will send a famine through the land – not a famine for food or a thirst for water, but a famine for hearing the words of the LORD.     Amos 8:11
